Every year, I pick ONE biohacking technology to relentlessly promote to the Jay Campbell ecosystem.
This choice of mine ends up being life-changing for the company itself as their numbers blow up far beyond anything theyโve done before.
But I AM very careful and intentional with my choice due to the reputation I have among my followers.
So when I put my word behind something, you best believe it will change your life in the same way itโs changed mine.
Which is why for the calendar year of 2025, my #1 pick has to be Bimini Oxygen Plunge Systems.
Bimini strives to revolutionize human health and performance through the power of maximally oxygenating your body.
Their NanoJet technology creates ~ 200 million pure ultra-fine oxygen nanobubbles per mL of water, turning any body of water into an almost-literal Fountain Of Youth.
By bypassing the human dermis and epidermis, oxygen is directly absorbed into red blood cells and this accelerates cellular healing.
In doing so, you protect your body against hypoxia and all the conditions downstream of it (with chronic inflammation being one of them).
Keep reading to discover why they are my top choice among all other biohacking modalities out there right now.
Iโll even reveal how to use their technology in the comfort of your own home for a reduced price.
Why Should We Care About Oxygen?
Similar to nitric oxide, oxygen (O2) is an essential molecule in the body for life and can even arguably be classified as a โnutrientโ:
โThe central role of O2ย as a nutrient is in mitochondrial respiration, acting as an electron acceptor thereby enabling ATP to be formed through oxidative phosphorylation.
This process is fundamental to aerobic organisms, with the oxidation of glucose and fatty acids requiring the continuous provision of O2.
Several core metabolic pathways are central to mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylationโglycolysis, glycogenolysis, lipolysis, and the tricarboxylic acid (Krebs) cycle.”
We literally require oxygen delivery to all our cells, tissues, and organs in order for the bodyโs vital biological processes to take place, and for the efficient creation of energy.
And like any other essential nutrient, oxygen must be constantly and consistently replenished:
โOxygen gets into our cells and tissues via the lungs. The lungs breathe in oxygen from the air, then pass the oxygen into the bloodstream through millions of tiny air sacs called alveoli. Hemoglobin in the red blood cells then picks up the oxygen and carries it off to the body’s tissues and cells.
โฆ The body needs enough oxygen to keep the blood adequately saturated, so that cells and tissues get enough oxygen to function properly.
Furthermore, cells and tissues can neither “save up” nor “catch up” on oxygen โ they need a constant supply. When the oxygen saturation falls below 89 percent, or the arterial oxygen pressure falls below 60 mmHg โ whether during rest, activity, sleep or at altitude โ then supplemental oxygen is needed.โ
When oxygen is in low supply, the body enters a state known as โhypoxiaโ:
โIn the setting of hypoxia or low blood oxygen levels, irreversible tissue damage can rapidly occur. Hypoxia can result from an impaired oxygen-carrying capacity of the blood (eg, anemia), impaired unloading of oxygen from hemoglobin in target tissues (eg, carbon monoxide toxicity), or from a restriction of blood supply.โ
As you can imagine, being hypoxic can put you at increased risk for a whole host of diseases:
- Obstructive sleep apnea
- Cardiovascular diseases
- Kidney diseases
- Cancers and tumor growth
- Metabolic diseases
- Greater susceptibility to infections
- Lung diseases such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
- Organ damage
- Impaired healing of injuries and wounds
- Cognitive decline and fatigue
- Lower tolerance for exercise
To make matters worse, our oxygen saturation levels naturally decrease as we get older.
This is manifested by several changes that inevitably happen with age:
- Decreased muscle strength
- Weakening of the diaphragm
- Lower maximal oxygen uptake
- Changes in ribcage structure that make expansion and contraction more difficult during the breathing process
- Reduction in the bodyโs airway clearance process
- Mitochondrial dysfunction
- Natural decline in lung function
- Weakening of muscles (which ironically fatigue faster and require more oxygen)
- Gas exchange from oxygen to carbon dioxide becomes less efficient
(Source)
So from this, we can readily infer how important supplemental oxygen is beyond modalities such as breath work and our natural breathing process that occurs +20,000 times a day.
Which in turn lowers โ if not reverses โ the incidence of the disease states described above.
- Lower inflammation
- Faster healing of soft tissue and skeletal injuries via increased oxygen supply and blood flow
- Improved whole-body circulation for better nutrient delivery and waste product inflammation
- Reduced risk of aging-related diseases and viral infections
- Decreased perception of pain
- Less buildup of lactic acid
- Higher energy levels
- Stimulation of brain activity and increased memory capacity
- Treating various skin conditions such as psoriasis and eczema
- Better sleep
Even for the most optimized among us, we may not necessarily suffer from hypoxia yet lack the oxygenation required for intense exercise.
Effectively: Due to oxygen being the rate-limiting step in helping your cells produce energy, it is only logical to improve oxygen absorption for maximal physical and mental performance.
The Pros and Cons Of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
Up until now, the best modality available for restoring optimal oxygen saturation levels in our body has been hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT).
This is typically done by having someone use a pressurized HBOT chamber, where they breathe in pure oxygen (5x what theyโd normally breathe given air is 21% oxygen and 78% nitrogen).
And due to having control over the pressure within the chamber, the practitioner can dictate the patientโs level of oxygen absorption.
While this doesnโt do much for tissues already getting enough oxygen, thereโs a โsuper compensation effectโ whereby HBOT delivers oxygen directly to tissues not receiving sufficient oxygen (via bypassing the red blood cells).
All of this sounds great on paper, and I was once a strong advocate for HBOT.
I linked to my definitive article on this topic at the start of this section, and have also done podcasts with Dr. Scott Sherr and Dr. Jason Sonners on this topic.
However, using an HBOT chamber doesnโt come without its own share of faults:
- An HBOT chamber is a significant financial investment for many people if they desire to have one in the convenience of their homes
- Very few health clinics have a high-grade HBOT chamber in their practice, and some people may have to travel outside of their city or state to access these clinics
- Sessions with an HBOT chamber at a clinic can also prove to be costly
- Sessions last 90 minutes at a time, and you are immobile in the chamber during this time
- More chronic conditions will require more sessions, which I must emphasize again will cost a pretty penny
But what if there was an easier and more efficient way to get the oxygen our bodies require on a daily basis?
One where perhaps a superior delivery mechanism is used?
And the technology allows you to achieve supra-physiological levels of oxygen saturation both in your home and on the road.
Thatโs where the good folks at Bimini Oxygen come in with their innovative solution.
Bimini Oxygen: The Origin Story
The name โBiminiโ itself is very fitting for what this company does, given the name originates from a district within the Bahamas:
โExplorer Juan Ponce de Leรณn learned from the Indians in the 1500s that Bimini was the site of the “Fountain of Youth.” According to Indian legend, the spring supposedly restored youth to older persons who bathed in or drank its waters.
In 1513, Ponce de Leรณn set sail for Bimini from Puerto Rico with three ships. He found Bimini, but failed to find the fabled Fountain of Youth. He went on to discover the Gulf Stream and Florida instead.
Today, what is referred to as the “Fountain of Youth” by locals is a well near the road leading to the South Bimini Airport. The well was carved out of the limestone rock by ground water thousands of years ago.โ
The origin story of this company can be traced back to roughly a decade ago.
Co-founders Jason and Rick Applewhite originally specialized in product development and manufacturing, where they would help people take their dream products and bring them to life.
Around 2013-2014, they were approached by Dr. Mayur Dev and his idea for a device.
And the doctorโs rationale was as follows:
โHey, I have this technology that can break down gas bubbles to the nanobubble level. I intend to use this in agricultural fish farms for the purpose of lake and pond remediation. This will help combat environmental issues by restoring water to its naturally high-quality and highly-oxygenated state.โ
He wanted to expand this towards industrial applications, where the water can be kept clean at optimal pH levels without the use of chlorine and other harsh chemicals.
But as they were flying to meet with Dr. Dev, Rick came up with a nifty application for this technology.
He was suffering from chronic ankle pain due to many years of playing basketball, and was curious to see if he could benefit from this โnanobubbleโ water.
5 days after his first session using this technology, and upon returning home, he was miraculously pain-free.
This led to the idea of using nanobubbles for human treatment (much more on this soon).
Upon returning home, Jason and Rick had the idea to test this technology on other people to see if this wasnโt a mere fluke.
And sure enough, people were getting in and experiencing the same benefits as Rick.
They were saying things along the vein of โI just did an Ironman and it normally takes me a whole week to recover, but this technology makes me feel like I can go back and run another Ironman the next dayโ.
Around 2020 when the lockdowns happened, Jason and Rick built their very first prototype.
They sent it to the Houston Rockets, and then partnered with Rice University to further test the technology on their competitive athletes.
Since high-level athletes were already using HBOT, it was only natural to observe and refine this oxygen nanobubble setup on the people who would benefit from it the most.
They used a real-time muscle oxygen saturation (SmO2) device to measure saturated oxygen levels in the athletesโ quadriceps muscles.
Why this matters: On average, a healthy person in their 20s and 30s will usually register an SmO2 reading of 80-90%, but they as they get older that reading will go down to 50-60%.
But after 15 minutes of using this technology, SmO2 levels doubled within these athletes!
Hence why the name โBiminiโ was chosen: Older people are getting out, and feeling like they are 20-30 years old again because the oxygen levels in their tissues and muscles are restored to where they would be for a young healthy person.
Hence why this technology can be considered the closest thing to a literal fountain of youth.
What Are โOxygen Nanobubblesโ?
The technical definition of nanobubbles is best described in a 2023 review article that examines the potential health benefits of โnanobubble-mediated oxygenationโ:
โNanobubbles are minuscule gas-filled spherical entities enclosed by an interface (gasโliquid or gasโsolid) with diameters typically in the nanometer range, spanning from tens to hundreds of nanometers.
They represent a distinct class of bubbles, significantly smaller than conventional microbubbles, and are characterized by their unique properties at the nanoscale.
โฆ[Their] remarkable stability arises from the presence of a thin molecular layer at the gasโliquid interface, which effectively confines the gas within the liquid medium.
As a result, nanobubbles exhibit prolonged lifetimes, making them pertinent for biomedicine in various scientific and technological applications, including drug delivery, gene delivery, cancer immunotherapy and chemotherapy, wound healing, and tissue regeneration, through the intravenous delivery of oxygen carriers such as [oxygen nanobubbles].โ
(Source) A = number of published articles retrieved with the search term โoxygen nanobubbleโ, B = articles published on the basis of the clinical use of oxygen nanobubbles, C = showing how oxygen nanobubbles are administered for managing human diseases. ย
These oxygen nanobubbles are the very basis of Biminiโs NanoJet Oxygen Boosting System, which delivers oxygen directly through the dermal layer (i.e. your skin) through ultra-fine bubbles.
The ultra-fine nanobubbles (less than 0.1 microns and as small as 0.02 microns) are ~2500x smaller than skin pores and ~350x smaller than red blood cells.
Due to their small size, they can deeply penetrate the bodyโs cellular environment and allow oxygen to enter its soft cell tissues.
The NanoJet Oxygen Boosting System is the only one in existence that can consistently produce bubbles of this size.
It does so by circulating water from an existing body of water (such as a whirlpool or bathtub), introducing 95% pure oxygen through the NanoJet system.
From there, it breaks down the oxygen โmacroโ bubbles into the ultra-fine oxygen nanobubbles, which do not โoffโ gas and can stay submerged in water for several days at a time instead of rising to the surface.
The water, now newly oxygenated, then gets pumped back into the tub.
All you have to do soak in a tub of water infused with these ultra-fine oxygen nanobubbles, and you will dramatically increase the concentration of oxygen in your body.
But What About Other Methods Of Oxygen Saturation?
As you have already seen with HBOT, oxygen is increased within the lungs and tissue through a pressurized chamber.
A respirator also works in a similar manner, increasing oxygen to supra-physiological levels by over-pressurizing the lungs as well.
But with Bimini Therapyโs technology, oxygen is delivered directly through the skin and into the smooth tissues (i.e. where the body needs it the most).
This allows for a non-invasive and all-natural treatment where all you have to do is sit in water (at a temperature thatโs comfortable for you) for 30-50 minutes at a time.
Compared to the 60-90 minutes one has to sit in an HBOT chamber, youโre saving time while also benefitting from a superior method of oxygen delivery.
Case Studies Proving The Health Benefits Of Bimini Oxygen
On Bimini Oxygen’s official research page, there are three white papers where the technology has been demonstrated to show real-world applications.
White paper #1: Proof Of Concept
Highlights:
- A 10-20 minute session in the Bimini NanoJet hydrotherapy tub led to increases in SmO2 readings from 50% to +90%
- The technology was demonstrated to deliver oxygen directly into the smooth muscle and bloodstream through the skin
- The athlete in question, a competitive swimmer, was able to compete the following day and record an all-time best in the 50-meter race (the fastest time in 4 years)
White paper #2: Treating Long-Term Symptoms of COVID-19
Highlights:
- Even after recovery from the acute syndrome, persisting symptoms of Long COVID can include chronic hypoxia and muscle weakness
- Using the Bimini NanoJet hydrotherapy to increase the oxygenation of tissues should lead to a return to normal daily activities via the resolution of muscle weakness and fatigue
- Subjects were tested prior to, 6 hours after, and 24 hours after treatment
- Many subjects were middle-aged, fully functional in their normal lives, and exercising 3-5 times a week. For as long as 3-7 months following their COVID diagnoses, they found themselves suffering from daily fatigue and an inability to resume normal exercise
- Subjects felt an improvement both during and immediately after treatment
- Most subjects returned to their baseline of dysfunction 24 hours following treatment, while some reported improvements in daily function 24 hours after treatment
- No side effects were reported by any of the subjects
White paper #3: Examining effects on increased performance and muscle recovery
Highlights:
- Due to the physically intense nature of their sport, athletes have an urgent need for accelerated treatment protocols that allow a faster return to competition via quicker recovery from injuries and fatigue
- Using a SensoKinetoGram (SKG), 10 participants were recruited for this study. 5 middle-aged and physically-active participants were chosen, and 5 athletes from Rice University were chosen
- Tests assessing fine motor skills and coordination were done before, immediately after, 1-2 hours after, and 24 hours after treatment with Bimini NanoJet hydrotherapy
- Meaningful changes were observed, with the most significant improvements in performance happening 1-24 hours following the use of Bimini NanoJet hydrotherapy
- In overall testing results, improvements occurred at a rate of 43-46%
- Immediately after treatment, subjects reported a feeling of relaxation and mental clarity, along with drastically increased muscle recovery
Who Can Benefit From Using Bimini Oxygen?
Biminiโs NanoJet Oxygen Boosting System is clearly beneficial for all humans, ranging from the fully optimized to the chronically ill.
This Golden Age biohacking modality MUST be present everywhere and anywhere!
Drug detox centers, sports medicine facilities, rehab centers, retirement communities, and much more will see nothing but a positive upside from the use of ultra-fine oxygen nanobubbles to counteract the age-induced hypoxia we will all inevitably face.
But I want to focus my attention on the one application where Bimini Oxygen has seen the most real-world success: Professional athletes
And to hone this down further, letโs see what some of these athletes have had to say:
You can even hear the coaches of these universities chime in on Bimini Hydrotherapyโs webinar page, but here is what you MUST knowโฆ
At Rice University alone, thousands of athletes have already been using the Bimini NanoJet Oxygen Plunge System.
Not only does it allow multiple athletes to be treated simultaneously, but similar to what was observed in the white papers, no oxygen toxicity was ever observed or reported.
Many athletes have switched over entirely from using cold tubs or hot/cold contrast therapy due to how quickly it facilitates both performance improvement and injury recovery.
They may not be the worldโs most gifted physical specimens, but the brutal demands of their sports are no less demanding.
Due to the increased intensity they face during practice and on the field, there is naturally a higher occurrence and range of injuries they take on.
And even assuming they somehow walk away injury-free, the exhaustion from physical bouts with very short breaks in between games calls for a solution.
One where athletes can fully recover and return to competing much faster compared to traditional methods of rehabilitationโฆ all while lowering their risk of getting injured again.
But on top of feeling better, many of these athletes engaged in high-contact sports such as football suffer from micro-concussions.
Over the course of a season, even if you donโt have major concussions, the constant head hits and their damaging effects add up over time.
This is most noticeable with reaction times gradually falling with each successive game.
Although the data is not officially published, early observations from athletes show their reaction times have gotten faster since introducing the Bimini NanoJet Oxygen Plunge System.
Frequently Asked Questions
Now that you know what Bimini Oxygen’s proprietary technology can do for you, letโs field some questions I AM sure many of you have.
Jason will take over this section of the article to answer the most common customer inquiries.
Q: Is it possible to โover-oxygenateโ yourself and suffer side effects?
A: As we all KNOW, too much of anything can be harmful to the body.
But you will NEVER reach a level of oxygen saturation, let alone for long enough, to experience any negative adverse events.
This 2001 study published in the National Library of Medicine should ease your fears:
โ100% oxygen can be tolerated at sea level for about 24โ48 hours without any serious tissue damage.
Longer exposures produce definite tissue injury. Oxygen at 2 ATA (atmosphere absolute air) produces characteristic pulmonary signs and symptoms beginning with mild carinal irritation on deep inspiration 3โ6 hours into the continuous exposure, intense carinal irritation an uncontrolled cough after about 10 hours and finally chest pain and dyspnea.
Symptoms subside 4 hours after cessation of exposure in majority of patients.โ
For context, the Bimini NanoJet uses water saturated at 28ppm with 95% ultra-fine oxygen nanobubbles.
Combined with using waterโs low pressure as the transport medium that penetrates human skin, a single 1-hour treatment is safe with virtually zero risk whatsoever.
Q: Are there any other side effects or contraindications to worry about?
A: Make sure you do not have any lotions or oil on your body prior to using the Bimini NanoJet Oxygen Plunge System, as you donโt want anything blocking or clogging your skin pores.
We recommend having a quick rinse in the shower to get rid of sweat and anything else youโve placed on your body before using the system.
Q: What is the best temperature for treatment with the Bimini NanoJet Oxygen Plunge System?
A: There is a range of water temperatures that most people can comfortably tolerate for 30-60 minutes at a time.
As long as you are anywhere between 78-100 degrees Fahrenheit, oxygen will flow through the skin and into the body seamlessly.
The only caveat is avoiding extremely cold or hot water for 30+ minutes as this could lead to side effects such as hyperthermia or dehydration, respectively.
Q: How long should a single treatment session with the Bimini NanoJet Oxygen Plunge System be?
A: Anywhere from 30-60 minutes is appropriate, with shorter times for basic recovery/maintenance and longer times for persistent/chronic injuries and conditions that require more intensive treatment.
Q: What other applications will Bimini Hydrotherapy be studying more extensively in the near future?
A: Weโre particularly excited about the brain, given it takes up 2% of our total body mass yet consumes 20% of the bodyโs total use of oxygen.
To be more exact, we are interested in tackling the rising rates of Alzheimerโs disease in America and improving cognitive function in these people.
We are eager to gather some early anecdotal study results, which we will use to further study how our modality can help these people recover their mental faculties.
Another application weโre also heavily looking into is skin treatment (i.e. scarring).
We had one case study of a young man who was suffering from atopic dermatitis.
He had these harsh red bumps all over his body, with none of the prescribed medications helping (and likely making his rashes even worse).
With just one session using Biminiโs Oxygen NanoJet, 90% of the rash was gone within 8 hours and the following week it was as if he never had the issue.
Even though he still didnโt get it for a few weeks following the initial treatment, he came back to his oxygen plunge treatment once every 3 days.
What was happening was that his body was attempting to detox impurities out of its system, and his breaking out in rashes was a sign that inflammation triggered something.
Whether it was toxin mold or some kind of heavy metal contamination, it was no match for the ultra-fine oxygen nanobubbles.
I should note that there will be some cases of conditions like eczema and psoriasis where customers will have to engage in oxygen hydrotherapy every 3-4 days to keep them at bay.
Truthfully, there are an infinite array of conditions for which we can use our system.
But we had to start somewhere with a roadmap and focus on one thing at a time.
Whenever you create a business, you have to get really good at one thing before moving on to the next.
Otherwise, you can easily get lost in the weeds and attempt to be everything at once.
We started off with athletics, got some pro-level competitors using our technology, and now we desire to build off that success into other areas where we know we will be successful.
Our medical team will be creating case studies that show the benefits of oxygen hydrotherapy, done our way, have substantial data behind them and are not merely limited to personal anecdotes.
Q: Do you have to put your entire body in the oxygen nanobubble containing water, or is it sufficient to merely soak your feet? How will this affect the delivery of oxygen to the cells in your body that need it the most?
A: By soaking your entire body, you get a higher surface area of your skin where oxygen can flow into the capillaries and then into the bloodstream.
However, many doctors and chiropractors are seeing great results by having their patients soaking their feet.
Q: On your page for additional resources, the majority of studies you quote purporting the medical benefits of oxygen hydrotherapy are using studies in which HBOT is the modality being examined. This is in stark contrast to ultra-fine oxygen nanobubbles, where all the studies supporting certain claims are in vitro or in vivo only. Are we to assume whatever benefits you see with HBOT will necessarily be equal or superior when using your technology?
A: Correct. HBOT has been around since the 80s and has been the primary method of increasing oxygen in the body up until now.
Other methods have included breathing techniques, working out with oxygen, being on an oxygen concentrator, and so forthโฆ but none have seen the same demand in high-performance athletics and biohacking as HBOT up until now.
We had to piggyback off those studies because HBOT was truly the first tool that meaningfully led to increased oxygen in the body.
But remember that with our technology, water is the transport medium for oxygen.
As you sit in the water, the surface area of your skin is increased 2-3 fold and the oxygen nanobubbles can easily flow through the dermal layers.
While we donโt want to necessarily replace HBOT chambers, most people prefer taking a bath over sitting in a pressurized chamber (while paying a fraction of the cost).
With this being said, we see a lot of doctors transitioning towards Bimini after using HBOT for many years.
One day we may even have a head-to-head comparison study to see who the true winner is!
Q: Your white papers look at short-term results, but no results extending to a week and beyond. Furthermore, there are no control groups or adjustments to account for a possible placebo effect. Can their results still be trusted?
A: We already have the proof of concept, both empirically and anecdotally, showing a clear increase in oxygen saturation throughout the body.
And while we are constantly collecting data, we could spend multiple lifetimes drowning ourselves in collecting study after study.
You get your anecdotal data, and then you piggyback off that data to create more robust studies.
But as I said earlier, there comes a point where you have to launch and see what happens in the real world.
Weโre already having doctors and coaches come back with their own data that even we didnโt think to collect, which we are in the process of compiling.
With any technology, youโre going to have the early adopters, the mass adopters, and the late adopters.
The proof is in the pudding, and all of our products come with a return policy where you can get your money back if you are not 100% satisfied after 30 days of use.
Q: How often should I be using Biminiโs oxygen hydrotherapy technology per session, and how long can I expect the benefits to last after each treatment?
A: ย We recommend at least 3 sessions per week, and it wonโt hurt you to use it every day or every-other-day if you are seeking faster recovery and/or have a baseline chronic condition.
The positive effects can last up to 3-4 days, and although you may feel an immediate sense of relaxation, the effects donโt always happen right away.
By far, the big changes are noticed the very next day when you go through a complete sleep cycle and the oxygen really gets into the cells and the mitochondria.
However, I want to emphasize that oxygen hydrotherapy is a LIFESTYLE.
We donโt just eat one healthy meal and then claim we are set for life.
We are on the lifelong and daily journey of improving our health and wellness as much as possible.
Whether itโs supplements, cold plunges in the morning, or even something like peptides, there are a whole bunch of things you do regularly to help your body perform at the highest level.
If anyone tells you something only has to be done once to fix you forever, those things are too good to be true and are not real.
And at the end of the day, our bodies are different and everyone will have a different experience with the Bimini NanoJet Oxygen Plunge System.
Q: What would be the best way to use your system in the context of recovery to maintain optimal performance?
A: The majority of our customers use our oxygen hydrotherapy technology at night to help with their sleep, and the next day they often perform better.
If you have a meeting or a busy day ahead of you, you can get some good cognitive effects with a 20-minute session.
For the people we talk to who are competitive athletes and/or are recovering from injuries, we recommend as much as an hour-long session to get as much oxygen in the system as you can.
Thatโs because it takes 15-20 minutes for the oxygen to get past the dermal layers.
You can go as long as 90 minutes, but youโll eventually reach a threshold and max out both the oxygen saturation and the benefits youโll experience.
So for the majority of people, 1 hour will suffice.
I will note that many of the athletes using Bimini hydrotherapy on the road will use it the day before a big game to improve their performance, and again in-between games to recover faster.
Itโs a necessity when you are playing at an elite level every other day.
