There are so many useful supplements to take with TOT that it’s almost impossible to try them all. The benefits they provide can vary, but it’s important to note that there is sufficient research backing their use as agents of change in your efforts to transform your physique. Let’s have a look at some of the substances you can use to augment your Testosterone Optimization Therapy and what their benefits are:
Proviron is a dihydrotestosterone derivative, acting similarly to testosterone metabolite DHT. It’s a medicine often used for the treatment of hypogonadism in males and in treating infertility caused by a low level of androgens. As a steroid molecule, it was never approved in the United States by the FDA, but it is used successfully around the globe. However, what makes it interesting in the context of TOT is that it can improve muscle hardness and vascularity. When taken alongside TOT it can reduce SHBG, and it can also improve erection strength. 50 mg taken throughout the day, in the morning and the evening, is enough to feel the benefits of Proviron.
Melanotan I and Melanotan II
M1 and M2 are naturally occurring melanocortin peptide hormones that can induce tanning through the formation of melanin. The increased amount of melanin helps our skin be more protected against ultraviolet damage and causes it to darken naturally. There is also a hypothesis stating that melanin can function as an organizational molecule in living systems, improving or enhancing conscious awareness. The difference between M1 and M2 is slight, with M1 being subtler and more natural in effect than M2. It is why M1 is usually recommended over M2. The optimal daily dose can vary, but M1 shows good results when it’s used as a 0.25 mg subcutaneous injection once or twice a week.
Ashwagandha is an exotic herb that’s long been present in Ayurvedic healing. It has been discovered that Ashwagandha helps normalize cortisol levels in the body, which supports the body to deal with stress. It reduces anxiety and depression without causing fatigue, stabilizes blood sugar levels while lowering LDL cholesterol levels, and can increase fertility and libido in some man. Use it with caution, as it depresses the nervous system, and anesthetics may increase its effects. Stop using Ashwagandha two weeks before any medical procedure. Its minimum effective dose is 300-500 mg taken on an empty stomach daily, although for cortisol suppression you can go up to 6,000 mg a day divided into three doses.
Creatine is a pretty well-known naturally occurring compound in the body that’s been in use for a while in fitness and weightlifting. The benefits of consuming creatine include:
- Regulating adenosine triphosphate levels (ATP);
- Improving results in repetitive high-power exercises;
- Increasing lean body mass;
- Reducing memory decline and improving working memory as well as memory span;
- Overall better athletic performance during short periods of intensive activity.
It’s recommended not to take too big of a dose, as you can’t hold a lot of creatine in your body at one time. A maintenance-level dose of 3-6 grams a day is more than enough to experience the benefits of creatine.
Whichever of these or other substances you’re trying out, remember to use caution and always start with a smaller dose, then gradually work your way up.
