The method
Positive Muscle Failure isn't a workout. It's a rule set.
Most people who lift never reach a point where their muscle can’t produce another good rep. They stop when it’s uncomfortable, or they cheat through with momentum and ego — and they wonder why their physique hasn’t changed in five years.
PMF is built around one decision: you stop when you can’t perform another rep in good form, without assistance and without momentum. Usually rep 18 to 22. Every set. Every exercise. That single rule changes everything.
The non-negotiables
No ego
The weight you can control beats the weight you can lift.
No momentum
No jerking, no swinging, no bouncing out of the bottom.
Full contraction
Squeeze, hold, and feel the target muscle on every rep.
Deliberate cadence
Slow eccentric, controlled concentric, breath managed.
Two working sets
One straight set. One drop set. Then move on.
Reciprocal pairing
Chest → back. Quads → hamstrings. Recover one while you work the other.
If you're over 40
Stop following 25-year-old influencers
on TikTok.
That isn't your body.
This is a method built for adult lifters with adult joints, adult schedules, and adult goals — by two people in their mid-fifties who still train at a level most 30-year-olds can’t match.
Inside the program
Three full-body workouts
Three complete training days, filmed end-to-end with Jay and Monica demonstrating every set. Warm-ups, working sets, drop sets, cadence, breathing, rest intervals — nothing skipped.
01
Workout One
Full Body · Day One
Chest · Back · Delts · Core
- Reciprocal inhibition pairings — chest and back trained together
- Two working sets per exercise to positive muscle failure
- Drop-set protocol on the second working set
- Standing cable crunches for visible, weighted ab development
- How to press delts without that "ape-shoulder" overhead lean
02
Workout Two
Full Body · Day THREE
Legs · Arms · Glutes
- Old-school leg press with proper seat adjustment for your torso
- Hamstring and quad pairings using reciprocal inhibition
- Triceps push-down technique — arms as a lever, body locked
- Glute and posterior-chain focus for both men and women
- How to train heavy without compromising joint integrity
03
Workout Three
Full Body · Day FIVE
Back · Chest · Mobility · Pre-lift
- Full pre-training mobility flow — foam rolling, stretching, breath
- When and why to use lifting straps as you age
- Pulldown technique that actually loads the lats, not the biceps
- Adapting any gym, anywhere — free weights or machines
- Closing principles: training for the next 30 years, not the next 30 days
The anatomy of one set
What "to failure"
actuallylooks like.
Most people don’t fail a set — they quit it. Here are the numbers Jay and Monica use on every working set, on every exercise, on every training day inside this program.
These aren’t suggestions. They’re the operating system of every video in the course.
Rep range
15 — 22
The window where good form fails before grip or willpower does.
Working sets
2 per exercise
One straight set to PMF. One drop set on the second.
Cadence
Slow · Controlled
Eccentric heavier than concentric. Breath managed.
Stop signal
No good rep left
Not “tired.” Not “burning.” The next rep would require momentum.

Common questions
Before you enroll
I'm a woman. Is this method different for me?
The method is identical. Monica demonstrates every single workout right alongside Jay using scaled weights and identical form cues. There’s nothing about positive muscle failure that needs to be feminized or simplified — and that’s the point.
I'm a beginner. Will I be lost?
No. Every exercise is demonstrated from setup to finish, with cues about breath, posture, and stopping criteria. If you’ve never lifted before, you’ll start with light weights and the same rules. The framework is the same at any level — only the loads change.
How long are the workouts?
Three full-body workouts, each filmed end-to-end. Once you’ve internalized the cadence, your own training sessions typically run 45–60 minutes. The videos are longer because Jay and Monica walk you through every working set and explain the form on camera.
What equipment do I need?
A standard commercial gym covers everything. For home gyms or hotel gyms, the substitution library shows you what to swap for missing equipment. The PMF method is about technique and intent — it adapts to whatever you have available.
I'm on TRT / peptides. Does this complement that?
Yes — and that’s actually the point. Hormones and peptides give you the raw materials to build muscle. PMF is the stimulus that tells your body to actually use them. Without resistance training to failure, even the best protocol leaves results on the table.
How long do I have access?
Lifetime. One payment, on-demand access forever. As Jay and Monica film additional workouts or updates, those are added at no extra cost.
What if it's not for me?
Email within 30 days and we’ll refund you in full. No questions, no forms.
Train smarter.
Train heavier.
Train for the next 30 years.
The method Jay and Monica run on themselves — built for people who plan to keep lifting long after their peers have stopped.
